The #DSAG #TechXchange was a valuable follow-up to the highly attended and high-quality DSAG #Technology Days. While Technology Days set the tone with broad trends and keynotes, TechXchange honed in on practical implementation — offering space for hands-on, real-world solutions that matter to the SAP community. The active participation from SAP consultants, data scientists, and consulting firm managers highlighted a shared urgency around data transformation and privacy readiness. These events reaffirmed that real innovation comes not just from technology, but from how it's applied in complex enterprise environments.
Demonstrating Future-Proof Data Anonymization
Ben Ramhofer, Natalia Cackowska, and Abhinava Pratap Singh hosted a well-attended hands-on session focused on consistent data anonymization across systems and data cleansing in accelerating migration from #ECC to #S/4HANA in a #GDPR-compliant, future-proof manner. The session welcomed 12 participants and began with a brief demonstration of AppSafe and FileSafe, followed by a hands-on workshop and open Q&A. Attendees were highly engaged, many expressing surprise at how consistently the anonymization processes worked across varied data environments like SAP HANA and Postgres DB. Several participants had active projects underway and were looking for reliable approaches to tackle ongoing anonymization and data quality challenges.
Real Use Cases from the SAP Community
The interactive discussions surfaced concrete use cases, such as preparing anonymized datasets for testing environments and aligning data management practices across international entities. Participants were able to directly map what they saw in the session to their day-to-day work — from test data compliance to migration readiness. These insights are helping inform how MAYA Data Privacy continues to adapt its offerings to meet operational needs across the SAP ecosystem.
UX Presence: Observing Users in Action
An important takeaway from the event was the value of observing user interactions in real time. While UX is already a core pillar of MAYA Data Privacy’s product design, this session offered a rare chance to see new users engage with App Safe and File Safe for the first time — without prior training or onboarding. These unfiltered user journeys revealed opportunities to further simplify the interface and improve guidance for first-time users. The team captured detailed notes on user flows, which will directly support enhancements that improve usability and reduce time-to-value for new adopters.
